to want my christmas cards to spread the joy at christmas, and not chastise me

I just want my christmas cards to say happy christmas or seasons greetings or even happy holidays.

what i do not want is chastisements for not getting in touch, preachy missives about the state of the world, floods, Phillapines, people being stuck in jobs they hate ... by this i mean a general moan about all of these things. if it were personal to them i'd get it but random witterings piss me off.

I mean where is your fecking christmas spirt? does it not depress you to write such drivel.

what makes you think that I have the time to read such drivel, when i have eleventy million things to do before the big day or that this will induce me to pick up the phone so i can hear more of your morose selfindulgent waffling?

I received a Christmas card with a nice message wishing me & the cat Happy Christmas and asking after me... but not signed.

After some detective work my Mum decided it was from my (usually pissed) uncle in Scotland.

I like this thread Xmas Smile

We don't get any of these. Although we did have a card this year from a neighbour's cat apologising for continually strutting across our garden and tormenting our dog which was a nice gesture I think.
