If you lose the ability to orgasm?

Was just reading the comment section of the Guardian and somebody dropped this clanger. Is that true? I'm in my early 30s and nobody has ever mentioned that.

No. Not true.

MoreThanChristmasCrackers · 16/12/2013 23:54

No definitely not Xmas Grin
But it can change your libido, hormones still change etc.
Is this supposed to be completely post menopause or during/early stages.

Nanny0gg · 17/12/2013 00:02

No. Not true.

TheFarSide · 17/12/2013 00:07

I am approaching the menopause and find it takes longer to reach an orgasm, and orgasms are weaker than they used to be. It's not psychological. My feeling is that hormone changes have something to do with it.

rabbitlady · 17/12/2013 00:09

'been through' is a bit optimistic for my position, but i can tell you with certainty that at the age of 56, everything is functioning just fine, thank you.

BeeWi · 17/12/2013 00:15

MoreThan- I think they meant after but not sure. Just one comment said that and a fair few agreed. I was staggered as it's mean a fairly rough deal after puberty, years of periods and childbirth.

beewi, if that's true, i might have to bring forward some of my long-term planning...

TaraLott · 17/12/2013 01:29

Is not true.

echt · 17/12/2013 06:09

Nah. Sooo not true.

ChablisChic · 17/12/2013 08:12

Definitely not true, no need to worry!

BeeWi · 17/12/2013 09:23

Phew! Thanks for the knowledge/reassurance.
I do love that you have a plan for these things though, Rabbitlady Grin

thebody · 17/12/2013 11:41

approaching menopause, and I go like a train. Grin

Lazysuzanne · 17/12/2013 11:46

I suppose some might, but I'm sure there are lots of rampant post menopausal women.

I think we get a distorted idea of how many women experience major difficulty with the menopause just because those who find it problematic are bound to be more vocal than those who feel just fine, or maybe even better without menstruation.

Lazysuzanne · 17/12/2013 11:49

I think a lot of women just don't fancy their husbands any more by the time they get to that age.

Or perhaps the perfunctory sex that is on offer just no longer seems worth the bother

Pixel · 17/12/2013 15:34

I'm hoping my libido will be better when I can come off the pill. I just hope dh is up to the challenge Wink.

Motherinlawsdung · 17/12/2013 16:06

Not true. But for about a year after, orgasms were actually painful Sad. Now they are fine!

victoriahaviland · 16/01/2019 16:58
