I quite like the Chipmunks films Blush

The Smurfs/Yogi Bear, on the other hand....

Sparklingbrook · 16/12/2013 17:09

DS2 watched Alvin and his chipmunky friends over and over and over Heart. Sad

PrimalLass · 16/12/2013 17:11

Mine too. But we've already seen it at the cinema 3 times so I can't be upset.

thebody · 16/12/2013 17:11

I can understand how you feel, I bought son The Demon Dentist (book) as one of his gifts, but he found it in the library on Saturday and has now read it.

I'm going to give it to him anyway as I'm sure he'll want to read it again.

Despicable Me 2 is brilliant, he'll want to see that again too.

Sparklingbrook · 16/12/2013 18:52

Yes, I think it will be fine. Hopefully he will love it and will be really pleased to be able to watch it again and again.

Worst case scenario is he comes home saying it was 'meh'. Sounds unlikely though.

LittleMissGerardButlersBaubles · 16/12/2013 18:54

Don't worry, he won't mind watching it again.

Me and DS1 have seen it in the cinema four times and DS2 5 times! It's been on kids club a lot and its one of the few films we saw at full price too.

They are getting it for Christmas too.

I think I love it as much as them, I even have a minion text alert Xmas Grin

MrsMook · 16/12/2013 18:59

DS likes the Chipmunks on loop.

It reminds us of the traumatic day when we couldn't get all the nephews and nieces for the same screening at the cinema (their Christmas present), so we had to watch it at the cinema twice in a day with two sets of children.

It was excellent preparation for parenthood.

Despicable Me 2 is great. DS and I both loved it at the cinema. He's 2. The baby just dozed and fed through it. Philistine.

WhereMyMilk · 16/12/2013 19:01

Have Bottom as my text alert and the new minions Christmas ring tone as well : o merry Christmas, smelly bum!!!

Sexykitten2005 · 16/12/2013 19:02

I loved nativity. Second one was rubbish thou!

queryremelatonin · 16/12/2013 19:09

He will probably enjoy being the one who knows what happens next when you all watch it together.

The rest of you may enjoy that a wee bit less...

WhenSarahAndStuckUpTheChimney · 16/12/2013 19:09

I was a bit sad last Christmas when we watched The Snowman and Father Christmas and DS was saying "Hey! I watched this at school!"

I had been looking forward to him seeing them for the first time with me and it was disappointing to discover he'd already seen it.

He still enjoyed watching it with me though so it wasn't spoilt, but I just felt disappointed because it was something I was looking forward to.

StickyProblem · 16/12/2013 19:16

I quite liked Nativity 2. I loved seeing Marc Wootton interacting with the kids, I thought he was brilliant. I'm sick of Martin Freeman's miserable face which has put me off the first one.

dementedma · 16/12/2013 20:30

Despicable Me 2 is good but not as good as the first one. My older dds like the Nativity films and have seen Nativity 1 loads of times.
Agree Megamind is excellent.very funny

Sidge · 16/12/2013 20:40

I bought my DDs Despicable Me 2 for Christmas.

BUT they're going to their dad's for Christmas and aren't back to mine until the 30th so I can't watch it until then!

WIBU to wrap it up for myself? Xmas Grin

Sparklingbrook · 16/12/2013 20:54

Do it Sidge. Grin

Sticky I feel exactly the same about Martin Freeman's face Grin

ninjasquirrel · 16/12/2013 21:52

Hijacking, but what do you reckon is the younger age limit on enjoying Despicable Me? DS is 4...

NicknameIncomplete · 16/12/2013 21:58

My dn is 5 and loves both 1 & 2.

I have bought my dd yhe 2nd one on dvd for christmas, she watched it at school the other week too however she loves it so she wont be disappointed to get it. It will be the opposite as she keeps asking for it on dvd.

I love saying bottom. It is so childish thoughGrin

LittleMissGerardButlersBaubles · 17/12/2013 17:29

ninja I think any age would love it!
