Can anyone help with info on returns to New Look in store?

Hi, don't know whether anyone can help with this.

I bought some boots instore at New Look about two months back. Obviously, I don't have the receipt anymore because of the length of time. One of the boots has now got a hole in the bottom and is letting rain in. I paid £35 for them, which is a lot for me.

I've been on their website which says that if an item is faulty to bring it back and they'll deal with it, but that's all it says.

Has anyone got any idea whether I would be able to return my boots after two months or is that too long? Is two months acceptable for them to be worn through on the bottom? I've not been mountain climbing or hiking in them, just general daily walking. I honestly don't know if I'm being daft expecting them to last longer, but the heels are hardly worn out at all.

Is it worth me going in store with them or will they laugh at me?

Has anyone had any experience with New Look previously so that they can advise me?

Sorry for posting here, but wanted traffic.

But you could tell me if you think I'm BU for wanting to return my boots after two months Grin

Update:

I went in this morning, all ready to fight my corner and bang on about my rights as a consumer, but they looked at the boots and agreed to give my money back on the spot!

I was offered an exchange for another pair the same, which I didn't want because surely the same thing would happen again, so I said no, I just wanted my money back and that was it. No offer of credit notes or vouchers.

The only niggle was that I got the sale price for them (£27, rather than £35) because I didn't have my receipt, but they were completely reasonable about it.

Strange how customer service varies between branches, isn't it? I took a bag back to a different branch (where I used to live) about four years ago and argued with the Manager for about 20 minutes. One of the side catches on the bag kept snapping off, which meant the handle on one side kept coming off. Given that it was hanging on the handle of the pushchair, it meant it kept going under the wheels.

I argued then that the product was faulty, but the Manager kept insisting that I could only have store credit - and I did have my receipt that time!

So, thank you New Look, Weymouth - you were lovely to deal with and totally understanding.

If they agree they are faulty you are by law entitled to a cash refund.

Do not be fobbed off with a credit receipt. But they do have to agree they are faulty.

Well that's good news, I was wondering how you got on. It makes me wonder if they have had other pairs taken back since they were so quick to agree to cash refund!
Shame their stores are so inconsistent with customer service.

I took mine back this morning, at first they said credit note or exchange, so I said they're faulty and not fit for purpose, so after a call to the manager I got a full refund

Hi! I was wondering the same.I payed the same,I have them one month and the bottom just opened completely. This is unacceptable so I will try to return them back showing them my card transaction! Wish me luck !

i prefer to have my receipts emailed to me (obviously I understand why people may not) so I can’t lose them! New Look is one of the stores that does this.
