To not know where to ask this question, another silly question about caring for my baby!

Firstly where would I ask this kind of thing? What section? And also for like advice on things about baby etc.

Ok so my 2 week old baby spit up or vomited all up side of her Moses basket..... How unhygienic is that to leave? Where can I buy a spare liner cos I'm having trouble trying to find one. Also if I did remove the lining to wash it, could I leave just plain wicker basket around it for 1 nite only?

Parenting or childbirth are your best bets. Not sure about the spare liner, but once you've solved that dilemma try fitting a large muslin over the liner (tucked in tight) so when baby spits up you can just whip that off and replace with another. Saves having to constantly wash the one liner.

Hi - it is unbelievably difficult and quite expensive to find spare liners for moses baskets. I was very pig headed about not wanting to throw out DS's moses basket when DD was born and just wanted a new liner/mattress and I think I ended up paying more to do it that way and taking so long to get it ordered that DD had practically out grown it!

It is not going to hurt at all to have just plain wicker around the baby for a night. Definitely wash the sheets - not great for little one to breath in the vomit fumes.

Were you not in one of the MN ante-natal clubs? Most of them rollover to new post-natal clubs once the babies start being born. Even if you weren't in an ante-natal club you could find the thread for the babies born the same month as yours and join that. I found it really useful when I had DS.

My ds used to sleep without the liner quite a lot as he was sick on the liner. Wash the liner, he will be fine for one night.

In the summer I took the liner out to try to cool him down.

Yes it's fine to wash the liner and have just the basket part for the night she'll be tucked up anyway :)

We had to get a new basket this time round but kept the liner from the old one so now we have a spare as they are hard to find on their own!

DD had a moses basket without a liner!
Like this with a little mattress and fitted sheet.
I know, poor thing Grin. Your baby will be fine without it for one night!!
