To think that maybe they should run public information films about blue badges?

After the horrible case of the man who was assaulted in the supermarket because a thug questioned his right to be parked there and who subsequently died?

I was listening to the story following the court case and maybe public information films would hammer home the message that :-

sometimes the passenger can be the disabled person.

Or the disabled person might still be in the shop.

Or the disability might not be obvious.

And that blue badge holder can park in P&C spaces.

Would public broadcasting information films help?

As a blue badge holder with an invisible disability I've never been abused in a BP space, however I once park in a P&C place with my elderly mother who also has a BP and we were confronted by a mother who declared that she didn't care my mother's legs didn't work she had a newborn and needed the space. I told her we both had blue badges and needed the space by the door but she ranted on, it upset my mother but I told her that I put both badges up just to annoy your woman!!

I've never been challenged beyond 'the stare' whilst people wait to see if you pass their rigorous sight check - who've obviously been awarded 'official disabled bay checker to queen and country'

Have a horrible feeling its cos I look like shit now :( One thing worse than being harangued in the street is unpleasant people judging you as looking sufficiently 'different' to pass muster.

I'd quite like it if someone did challenge me - and as an invisible illness bod I never thought I'd say that.

Trains used to be my downfall, and pharmacies, gps and hospitals. Now i find myself unable to get to pretty much anywhere.
