She said it was scary and it rained blood at the end. I have not seen the film so no idea if aibu but it doesnt sound suitable for a 6 year old. Its got a 12a rating so understand she can watch it with an adult but that doesnt mean its necessary ok does it? She explained to me that it was a 12 film but she could watch it with an adult which makes me wonder if exp was covering his back incase I objected.
Anyway. Aibu the tell him she is still too young for this kind of film?

I take 7 yo ds to see a lot of 12As and the hunger games was a bit more violent, with the flogging and execution. If anything though, the plot was too complex for ds and the first half bored him. He had seen the first one on DVD but didn't enjoy this one a much, although it didn't upset him. He is fairly blase when it comes to dramatic portrayals on the screen.

It is a brilliant film and a good adaptation of the book and I didn't find it scary particularly- but I have read the books knew what to expect from the first one and am 32. 6yo? No way. The point of a 12A is that it gives a guide without stopping mature tweens watching it- not 6yo's! Your ex is an idiot.

I was surprised it got a 12a ratting. I think 15 at least. YADNBU, 6 is way too young and I would have been furious.
