It doesn't matter whether you have faith in the judicial system or not. There are victims involved, who need protecting. Why should they have to stay away from social media because someone wants to share such bilious shite as an excuse to show they care about it.

If you cares your first thought should be of the victims. But it wasn't. So you shouldn't share it. And ditch friends that do.

SledYuleCated · 11/12/2013 21:44

What purpose would you sharing the photo serve?

bluecheeseforbreakfast · 11/12/2013 21:49

What do you think will be achieved by sharing the photo? Do you think the person in the photo is a direct risk to your children or your friend's children? Do you think sharing it will prevent further abuse.

Or do you just think the person in the photo doesn't deserve to be out of prison and you want to do anythingyou can to make their life harder?

If it's baby Peter's mother, her picture has been in the Daily Mail, so you're hardly going to get it to a wider audience. It's certainly not illegal to share a picture in that way as her identity is public - so if you really want to do it, there's nothing stopping you. Personally, I wouldn't. And there's always a risk of mistaken identity (the national media is not always to be trusted on such things) so I think you have to be very careful.

On a slightly different but related point, one of my fb friends posted a picture that was allegedly of an adult Jon Venables, one of James Bulger's killers. There is a court order prohibiting publication of such photos so I alerted her (and fb) and she removed it. I was really surprised that she didn't know she was breaking the law by doing this, as there's been quite a lot of publicity about it. But leaving that aside, I just thought it was a deeply unhelpful thing to do. As there are no verified photos of the adult Jon Venables out there, she had no idea that it was actually him. It could have been someone completely innocent. And even if it was him, how was setting a vigilante mob loose going to help anyone?

Bedsheets4knickers · 11/12/2013 22:01

Yep I want her life to be made a million times harder than it is now. I didn't share the photo because I don't know 100% it's her. Guilty as charged !

She has served her time though hasn't she.

Surely she deserves justice

Bedsheets4knickers · 11/12/2013 22:11

No she doesn't

It's not your place to decide.

daisychain01 · 11/12/2013 22:58

Why? Just why? How does it affect you? What good would it do?

FreudiansSlipper · 11/12/2013 23:00

why do you need to share it if you are talking about Peter's mother she is being stalked by certain papers

softlysoftly · 11/12/2013 23:01

B ns-\
.

Famzilla · 11/12/2013 23:03

"No she doesn't".

You don't get to make that decision.

FreudiansSlipper · 11/12/2013 23:03

so what would you do if you saw her in the street

she has served her time and now she should be able to lead a life in private, she has other children too

maddy68 · 11/12/2013 23:06

I have seen the same photo. It's baby ps mother. Or so they say. What if it is some poor innocent woman who happens to look fairly similar. Her life could be ruined by vigilantes
That's why it should be removed.

AngelaDaviesHair · 12/12/2013 00:54

How would sharing the photo make anything better? What would it achieve?

FortyDoorsToNowhere · 12/12/2013 01:00

I may be wrong in my thinking, but any one that attacks her or harasses her ect should be arrested just as if they will if it was any other person.

As much as I hated seeing her being released and I wish that she never was, I am not a violent person and in my heart I couldn't do that do another person.
