To feel just a little bit saddened by this?

I saw something that actually made me feel really quite saddened at lunchtime today.

There was a baby (no more than about 6 months) which could barely sit unaided (head kept lolling from side to side etc.) which was propped in a high chair using blankets to keep it upright. It was literally being force fed a MacDonalds cheeseburger, despite its screams.

Sad

The baby was probably kicing off because it really wanted to have a gregs sausage roll!!

expatinscotland · 11/12/2013 20:50

Or a Big Mac, LEM :o

FutTheShuckUp · 11/12/2013 20:53

So report the thread then expat. Troll hunting is so 1992!

expatinscotland · 11/12/2013 20:54

CBA. Report away. I'm gonna be miffed if Scott doesn't win MasterChef tomorrow!

SaucyJack · 11/12/2013 20:55

Force feeding is clearly physical abuse, so YABU to feel saddened by seeing it happen.

The fact it was a Maccy D's is somewhat irrelevant IMO. It would've been just as awful had she been force feeding it hand-knitted organic puree.

LEMisafucker · 11/12/2013 20:58

Ha! Expat - that is wrong on so many levels!!! Grin we'll not go there!

MummyofIsla · 11/12/2013 20:59

Expat made up how exactly? Hmm why the hell would I bother doing that exactly?

Good grief Sad

Reminds me of something I saw at...a famous national chain of holiday camps: a mum feeding her babe-in-arms a Bacardi Breezer.

To this day I really really really hope it was squash in a Bacardi Breezer bottle, but I mainly think it was actually a Bacardi Breezer.

thebody · 11/12/2013 21:04

many things make me sad but seeing a baby force fed a cheeseburger, well it's not great but not sad.

I have seen kids force fed sushi to make mummy look cool, now that's really really sad.Grin

CuppaTeaForTheBigFella · 11/12/2013 21:31

My nearest shopping mall has shared seating for McDonalds, Spud-u-like, Chinese food etc so it's quite believable to be sat eating a jacket potato next to someone else who is eating a McDonalds.

OP that is not nice to witness. I recently watched an old episode of Supernanny where the parents were force feeding their twins, literally shoving the spoon in and making them swallow, whilst the kids screamed and cried. Admittedly it wasn't a burger, but it was still horrible Sad

CuppaTeaForTheBigFella · 11/12/2013 21:33

puntastic Bacardi Breezer??? Shock

farrowandbawlbauls · 11/12/2013 21:45

I want some Mcnuggets now.

OpalTourmaline · 11/12/2013 21:59

YANBU. Force feeding a baby is horrible.

puntasticusername · 11/12/2013 22:02

It was definitely a Bacardi Breezer bottle. The liquid in it looked like Bacardi Breezer. The child was drinking it (through a straw) very happily. This was out in public (in the check in a queue). The (presumed) mother gave no sign that she thought what she was doing was in any way controversial.

Beyond that, I couldn't say. But that's what I saw.
