Telling her to hit a child back?
Dd came home today (she's 5) and said a little boy in her class had hit her, I asked if she told the teacher and she Said yes but she told me to hit him back just as hard..
Dd didn't hit Said little boy back because we have always taught her not to..
I didnt think this was very professional of teacher and can't help but feel abit sorry for the poor boy who is being taught nothing other than violance is ok...

A teacher in Holland told my friend's son to hit the boy who had been bullying him. The teacher couldn't believe that he had let himself be bullied by a boy who was much smaller than he was.

I would have a friendly chat with the teacher along the lines you suggest in your last post.

My Head Teacher told me today that she had been told (by the father of one of the 6 year old boys I teach) that the boy had said he had to play with a particular boy otherwise he would get into trouble with me. Nothing could be further from the truth - the 2 boys are kept as far apart as possible from each other because of issues last year. When the Head spoke to the boy today (gently - she has a lovely manner with the children), he told her immediately what he said wasn't true. He's been playing with the boy more because "he's nicer this year" and so he wants to play with him. But he also knows that daddy got very upset about the other boy last year, and so would appear to have created an excuse for playing with him that he thinks will be acceptable to daddy.

Not saying that anything like that has happened year, but children's minds work in very interesting ways, that make complete sense to them...

I think if you can't shake it, there's a reason for that, even if its not obvious to you now. Your approach in your last post sounds absolutely perfect.
