To resent signing yet another birthday card

When I never get one???? I've worked here for about 12 years. There are 20 of us in our team. The admin team have a birthday book and everyone gets a card, except for me!!!! I used to, and then about 5 years ago I got one on a completely random date. I pointed out it wasn't my birthday, and told them the right date. All taken very well, no bad feelings. But since then I haven't. Had a card.

It doesn't really bother me that much, but this morning I was passed a card to sign for someone in another team, which pissed me off.

So, so I continue to silently seeth, or do I ask why I don't get a card?????

Well I wouldn't contribute to that, Gin. If it's paid or by senior managers, why do staff have to pay for it? Must be one hell of a buffet!

I'd ask my team/few colleagues or whatever if there's any other 'event' going on during your working times/days and go to that.

Hmm tricky, I can see you don't want to look whiny/petty by not signing?

Is there anyone you can trust in the office? ask them why you don't get one?

If there's a book then perhaps you could sneak your birthday into it?!

I've never been the sort of person to be given cards. I organise leaving do's, mat leave do's and I'm well liked. I've never really understood it.

Lyin, admin staff don't have to pay, senior managers started doing it a couple of years ago (mainly because they didn't want to go out for Christmas, miserable lot!) I've got manager in my job title but am a good few grades lower than them.

I'm going to forget about it. Will arrange annual leave for my next birthday....
