Christmas present help for my wife...

Hi, I usually get my wife something like good tickets to an event, jewellery, holiday etc. This year she has been dropping hints about a nice coffee machine and some speakers for her iphone/spotify. So I went off and got those.

My daughter says she has been saying that she wants tickets to an event now! I cannot afford those as well but her birthday is in January so I could get the tickets then.

Do you think she will be happy with a coffee machine and speakers? Seems a bit gadgety of which she isnt. I want to get her nice things for Xmas as she has had a tough time recently going through cancer herself and a family death.

It threw me with my daughter saying that yesterday!

I'd be Hmm if she wasn't gadgety and you'd got those things off your own back but if she's been dropping hints then she obviously wants them so will probably be very happy - I know I am when DP has no idea what to get and then actually manages to pick up on a hint Grin. She won't have long to wait for the tickets either for her birthday so seems like best of both worlds.

(as long as they aren't tickets that will sell out before you get them in January?)

(last post for now, honest!) Maybe if you think those seem too gadgety, could you get her a little something extra that's very 'luxury', like a box of chocs (small box of VERY nice ones rather than large box of cheap ones mind), or smellies/make-up she likes etc? Not spending a lot extra but just as a little treat present.

You sound lovely.
We generally don't drop hints lightly so I'm sure she will be delighted. Tickets for birthday sounds great.

I think it sounds fine, if you've interpreted her hints correctly! My advice would be to make sure you write something lovely in her card, to add a fluffy romantic element to the practical presents Smile

A coffee machine is the gift that keeps on giving—she'll love itXmas Smile

Oh yes i agree with Dorothy a nice one that does everything Smile

They sound like great presents, don't worry about the tickets. Smile

If they're still available for round about her birthday in January then you can get them then. If not, it sounds like you're a thoughtful present buyer anyway and she'll love anything you get.

Completely agree with 500 that a romantic card with a lovely message inside will be the cherry on the cake. Smile
