My ex is always late. He can not ever turn up on time. Never. He is regularly an hour or more late.

He took the DCs shopping on sat and was late back and the car park was locked. He had to walk to a friends with the DCs and they all had to kip there.

Aibu to proper rofl and lol?

Errr yes because your DC were there, am I missing something here Confused

harriet247 · 09/12/2013 20:06

What mic said.

Madmusicyeah · 09/12/2013 20:06

The DC are not babies or toddlers. So no routine to disrupt. They lipped happily on the sofas

Kipped.

It would be funnier if the children hasn't been inconvenienced by it but as long as they were fine, fair enough.

Madmusicyeah · 09/12/2013 20:12

Kids are teen and pre-teen. Not inconvenienced. At all. But ex was. His plans for sat night were ruined. Snort.

Big adventure for the kids and a PITA for him. No harm has come to the kids so YANBU!!

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 09/12/2013 20:15

Oh give OP a break. It's not like he lost an arm and she's lolling chuckling

Madmusicyeah · 09/12/2013 20:15

No harm done. But he maybe learned a lesson.

candycoatedwaterdrops · 09/12/2013 20:17

YABU. Don't you care about how it might make your kids feel?

Madmusicyeah · 09/12/2013 20:19

The kids aren't babies and think its hilarious and had a ball.

VanitasVanitatum · 09/12/2013 20:19

She's made it clear the kids felt fine!! How u'd this a trauma for them?!? Serves him right for being late, might be a good lesson for him.

mineofuselessinformation · 09/12/2013 20:22

I had one of those..... Always late to collect and bring back - until the day he had to wait to drop off as I wasn't home. He couldn't say anything to my cheery 'sorry I'm late!' but is much better at timekeeping now. Smile

somewheresomehow · 09/12/2013 20:30

How did this trauma the kids ? they are old enough to understand that he was late again got the car locked in and they had to sleep at at friends house. I bet he will be checking the time repeatedly next time he goes shopping

candycoatedwaterdrops · 09/12/2013 20:50

Who used the word trauma? Oh wait, NO ONE!

VanitasVanitatum · 09/12/2013 21:18

Excuse my paraphrasing candy. What I meant was that I thought it was obvious from the op and further comments that the kids didn't feel upset or scared etc.

caruthers · 09/12/2013 22:39

It all sounds a bit childish!

parakeet · 09/12/2013 22:43

Perhaps the OP has been inconvenienced so many times by her ex's lateness she cannot help but feel a little bit of schadenfreude this time?

But there is always someone to criticise on MN

candycoatedwaterdrops · 10/12/2013 09:58

I'm not criticising, just thinking that maybe the kids might also find it a bit tedious then the OP explained. So, no need to say I am criticising. I do find people extrapolate on here to fit their own agenda sometimes. Jesus!

ThistletoeAndWine · 10/12/2013 10:03

No kids were harmed in the making of this thread!!

Perhaps the kids too are fed up with lateness!!

Lateness to me is just down right rude unless of exceptional circumstances!!

Madmusicyeah · 10/12/2013 21:08

Exactly what Thistletoe said. The kids had a good time. Even if they had been younger, what on earth harm was done? Their biggest concern was not having clean pants and sleeping in t-shirts Confused

And it might teach him a lesson but I doubt it
