to also want a gift from Santa if I pay £6 for an adult alongside the £10 for DC to enter his magical (b&q shed) grotto

Not trying to be bah humbug or owt just a bit shocked at the ridiculous overcharging for what is essentially standing in a queue?

I know I am paying for the 'looks on my little ones faces' Hmm and should just suck it up but I really want to ask for a pressie or at least a cup of tea.
I can understand a nominal charge, or say 1 adult free per child so they don't get loads of extended family piling in, but SIX QUID? REALLY??

I really hate this money-grubbing mentality of these places, it's the same with soft plays, farm adventures and loads of child places near me, it makes it difficult financially for two parents to attend.

I think I'm going to stick to PNP this year and pay to do bauble decorating or something instead. I'm reading this now and thinking I may have already moaned about something similar in the summer re; adventure play haha
At least I'm consistent. AND it must really piss me off Grin

I took my son to see Santa and didn't cost me a penny.

Its £8 for a photo and gift at the ones near me. I refuse to pay as I lose the picture in a few days anyway Grin

Look out for free ones with donations to charity. There is a great one in the garden centre near us. No present and you can take your own photos. Must be similar around the country.

Find a church or nursery fete £2 for dd, hardly any queue and no parent surcharge got q mini selection box and a teddy too!

SaucyJack · 08/12/2013 19:42

Vote with your feet.

As long as parents are daft enough to pay, then they'll keep charging.

CombineBananaFister · 08/12/2013 19:51

I am saucyjack, I am. [ignores crushed looks on Dc faces] Just seems to be par for the course round here. Where I lived before was a lot less of a rip-off. the North/South Yorkshire divide Grin
Having said that last year we did the National Railway Museum and I really thought it was good. 30 mins of games, steam train ride, drinks and food afterwards - don't mind paying then.

Blimey!! I paid £3 for DS to see Santa in the local garden center (also in one of their sheds LOL), and he got a pocket electronic battle ship game - he was very happy. No charge for parents and I took loads of photos! No way in hell would I pay for me just to escort him there ...
