to hate it when the verse and the chorus don't go together? Like Live and Let Die.

They were playing Live and Let Die in a shop earlier (yes, very festive). It's always struck me that the elements of the song really don't go together.

You've got the nice melodic bit at the beginning, which is fine.

But then, you suddenly get "Live and let die boom boom", followed by Da da da, da da da, mad drums, dum dum dum dum.

Then the perky "what does it matter to you, you've got a a job to do". More da da da, etc.

Then suddenly. Gentle bit again. Then frantic bit again.

It really does sound like he had a lot of unfinished song ideas which he cobbled together.

There's another Beatles or McCartney one and it's eluding me.

Band on the Run is about 3 or 4 songs cobbled together - none of them particularly good.

Yes, that's it Puppy. I'm beginning to think, it's just a problem I have with Wings rather than songs in general.

I like the changeability. It's why, despite hating myself for saying it, Biology by Girls Aloud is good tune - informal structure, competing elements, blah blah

I was about to mention Biology Grin

MardyBra · 06/12/2013 17:14

Just had to look up Biology as I am an old gimmer not familiar with Girls Aloud's hits. Yes, it is a bit tacked together, but not overly grating.

What was more concerning was the bit in the video where Sarah Harding's large pink bra stuck out of her outfit in such a way that it looked like she had enormous nipples.
