Took 5 yo DD to see Father Christmas today. As per usual he asked what she would like. Her answer was " a bar of chocolate". He smiled and said "a little one or a big one", She said " a little one". At which point he said that it didn't sound very exciting and he was sure that there was something else she would like. After a LOT of pushing she finally said she would like a "Build-a-Bear Bear". Now she already has several of these and we had discussed it with her, on her birthday, that she didn't need any more and it would make more sense to have accessories or something different. He ignored me shaking my head, and promised that he would bring her one. She left all excited because she'll get another bear. SO AIBU to think he should have just left it when she wanted a small bar of chocolate, if that was what she said? I can afford to buy a Bear, but what if I couldn't? I haven't actually decided whether I'll get a Bear or not and haven;t dared ask DH as he'll have a fit!
