.....it's windy outside (Manchester, DH works locally for himself)

while I stay at home with 1 year old dd2, potter around after a long bath and have tea and crisps Grin

Not at all

This is my plan too

TeaJunky · 05/12/2013 14:04

Do it.
I'm wondering how I can get Dh to go and pick up. He's home so will just say I should go too.

TeaJunky · 05/12/2013 14:09

Squinkie, perhaps you can go for a bath around home time and then shout from the bathroom 'darling I'm in the bath now and it will take me aaaages to get rinsed off and out and dressed, you'll have to go alone' Grin

How did you manage to have a long bath with 1 yr old dd? I have a 6 month old, is there an Other Side to this parenting lark where lovely long baths are possible?? Shock

TeaJunky · 05/12/2013 14:13

Puurrt Grin

Dd's long naps are engineered to the second in accordance with my long baths. It has taken me a year to work it to perfection.

I can now have a long bath every day if I so wish. great mum me Grin

If my DH was available I would ask him to get my DD too, but as usual he is at work and can not get out. So she will just have to walk back
but at least she has her coat. Seems to have eased off a bit here, thank god.

Heartbrokenmum73 · 05/12/2013 14:26

If I actually had a partner Sad I'd ask him to go and pick mine up.

Having said that I now live five minutes walk from school, whereas we used to live a bus ride away and sometimes we'd miss the bus and have to wait half an hour for the next one, so I'm still loving the novelty of a five minute walk Grin

purrtrillpadpadpad · 05/12/2013 14:26

Tea Shock Do you run courses on how to achieve this zen daily bath state? Maybe a textbook with instructions?

OMG Tea if I'm naked in the bath he'll think thats an invite and try to join me.

PurplePidjin · 05/12/2013 14:40

Bath baby. Run self a bath while baby has nappy free time. Boob baby into submission for the night. Luxuriate Wine

TeaJunky · 05/12/2013 14:46

Purple Grin @ boob baby into submission Grin

Purrt - I'm just a stubborn arse who wouldn't sacrifice her long baths for no one BlushGrin

Tea you're an expert! Grin

PurplePidjin · 05/12/2013 14:56

I'm too lazy for any other method (he's also 1 btw) :o

I honestly think we kind of fell into a routine because my baths are so crucial for my emotional and mental well being and no I don't feel like a nob saying that Grin

Wake up in morning, get dd1 ready and DH takes her to school, have cup of tea, feed baby porridge and milk. She has a little play and then goes down happily for a nap. (Don't flame me but don't all babies do this? Blush) This is the point at which I drop everything and RUN to the bathroom Grin

I'm worse- I've sent my oap father to get mineShock But really, it's blowing a gale out there and I can't find a hair Bobble- if I went I would come back bearing more than a passing resemblance to Brian blessed. Really it's a public service that I not go. Grin
