To love it when DS1 does cooking at school?

He's year 8 and IMO has been bringing home some lovely, perfectly edible meals.

My friends seem to hate school cooking, complaining about the waste of time and money buying ingredients for meals that won't get eaten. We eat and enjoy everything DS1 brings home and it saves me having to cook

Ok, maybe I'd rather not know about the exact hygiene standards employed but if it's heated through properly any germs are killed, right? Grin

My dad was like this as didn't like waste. One day I made buns and put salt in them. I then sat and watched him eat them and announce how great they were.

We have had some fabulous meals made by both DCs at school. DS (yr 9) has now developed a love of cooking that means he offers to cook at home too!

DS did cooking as part of his prep school, afternoon activites, he later worked collecting plates etc from pub garden, progressed to kitchen prep then cooking.
He cooked meals at home from a young age , beans on toast etc from 5ish to meals in his teens.
He is now a chef.
We never saw the food but he is very much still alive! Grin

Two of my boys took catering in their options, so every Tuesday we have two lots of rather good food coming home. We currently have 2 victoria sponges from today, plus a chocolate log in the freezer (we ate the other one).
