First AIBU, please be gentle!

DH is still in bed. He is tired, some of this is due to a bad night during the week with ill DCs but some is self-inflicted e.g. didn't go to bed until midnight and went to sleep at 1.30am last night even though DCs in bed and quiet, everyone fed and dishes done by 8.30pm.

We have an elf visiting (no judging please Grin ) who has brought some presents like advent calendars, some new decs etc. DCs may want to wear part of their present to church this morning (DH doesn't come to church). This means we want to do presents now but would mean waking DH up.

So, wake him up to do elf presents, do elf presents without him or do elf presents after church? Not sure which would be least unreasonable as someone loses out for each option.

Do elf presents on the bed, DH can wake up for the opening then go straight back to sleep while you go to church?

meganorks · 01/12/2013 09:53

Do without him unless he has e pressed a particular desire to do them.

Mia4 · 01/12/2013 10:52

Wake him up and ask him :)

Those elves are creepy, my sister's one always seems to be looking at me shudders

Vivacia · 01/12/2013 10:57

What elves???

newestbridearound · 01/12/2013 10:59

I want some presents now Grin I'd wake him and ask, if he's not interested he can always go back to sleep.

Littlemissexpecting · 01/12/2013 11:01

I would wake him up to ask. He can then get up or go back to bed

headdesk · 01/12/2013 13:25

I'd wake him up

trashcanjunkie · 01/12/2013 13:41

what is an 'elf visiting' is this a euphemism?

Monetbyhimself · 01/12/2013 13:43

An elf visiting ? Yabu

ScrambledSmegs · 01/12/2013 13:45

Sod him. Do presents without him. If he moans put on a kind face and gently tell him that you didn't want to wake him.

DS1 took matters into his own hands and woke DH up, who was happy to receive a bottle of baileys to kick off the festive season. Our elf isn't an official one as they are much too creepy, she also doesn't report back to Santa on DC's behaviour. She visits, brings presents to start off December and is a bit mischievous.

Thanks for all the replies Smile.

Glad I'm not the only one who find them creepy OP :) Glad you had nice family time.

I refused to buy one for my niece, she'd howled when seeing a picture of one despite how cute her mum thought they were, got her a gruffalo instead which she loves.

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 02/12/2013 20:02

surely presents are for christmas not the whole of december?

Rhubarbgarden · 02/12/2013 20:04
