Which she lost after 3 weeks of term. She had worn them twice, they were labelled, they had only been in her locker then in the PE changing room. Another girl must have them. AIBU to write to the PE teacher and ask her to ask the girls to check their shorts?? I really don't want to have to buy another pair....

DD has just turned 10 and has just started middle school, btw. She has checked the PE lost property and general school lost property.

Thanks!!

I'm a teacher and I used to have a stash of PE kit, bought new and labelled as "Spare Kit" or cast offs from my DC so their name labels still in to lend out to children who had forgotten or lost kit. Same goes for spare underwear and school clothes. The majority of it has gone missing from my box already this year. That's about 12 spare girls pants and 12 boys pants, five basic school trousers, tights and socks galore, probably 8 sweatshirt and six full PE kits!

Yabu, teachers have important things to do. Teach your daughter to be more responsible. 10 is old enough.

Fairy nuff, thanks all! Think dd had done well settling into new school so didn't make too big a deal about it, but have had a chat about her replacing any other lost items. :)

Sorry

But it's not always the child's fault!!!

Just saying

Thank you

I'd email and ask them to send an email out asking parents to check PE bags etc in case they were taken home accidentally. I did this recently when dd had lost about 3 items of clothing. The school secretary sent an email out and got two items back, and she searched the class room and found the third item. Bless her, it was very kind of her to do that. Theres no harm in asking eh?

As a middle school teacher (with pe as their second subject and a form tutor) I get one of these letters every week. All that happens is at an assembly the kids are asked to make sure they have their own pe kit, tie, jumper on ect....
And I spend time after school going through lost property with a list of nanes trying to match clothing to child!
