to remind wrapping paper shops that people do have birthdays in December

Ended up having to go to 4 shops before I could find (cheap) birthday wrapping paper.

Girl in Tesco's was very sweet and explained, very carefully, that its because Christmas is coming up soon and they need the space for Christmas paper Smile

I have a Dec birthday & have always loved getting bday presents in Christmas paper.

if you have any sense you buy plain silver, gold, red or whatever colour you like wrapping paper so you can swap and change.

Most people don't care about the paper anyway and are just pleased that they don't have to choose between birthday or Christmas present.. not that I am bitter (I am)

asda don't remove their birthday paper. All xmas wrapping paper is in the special xmas aisle.

If you have a home bargains near you they have some cheap rolls of birthday paper, different designs and good quality.

I have two xmas babies and mine don't mind what their presents are wrapped in really it gets ripped off in seconds.

IKEA do not christmassy wrapping paper for kids, it has random cartoon type pictures on, its in the Christmas section but it's not christmassy at all. They also do plane metallic coloured paper if your looking for adult wrapping paper.

( ds and dp both have December birthdays)

Could someone also tell the card companies too!

I'm used to birthday presents wrapped in slightly festive paper. I do get annoyed at Christmas cards for my birthday though

Blatherskite · 27/11/2013 17:03

Apparently September is the busiest month for birthdays (everyone trying to get their child to be the oldest in the year I guess) so I try to get most of my birthday stuff for DD then as there are generally deals to be had especially for party things. Forgot paper this year though!

Although, I can't think of anything she might like and she's not at pre school on the day of her birthday so I'm tempted to just let her lose in Toys R Us and buy her whatever she wants* I think she might quite enjoy that and it saves me buying wrapping paper at all :)

*as long as it costs less than £40 Wink

And I always buy cards from Moonpig etc. Loads of choice and I don't have to fight through the Christmas crowds. Plus, I can get the card personalised which she loves.
