We always used lidl nappies but they've done something weird with them and in an emergency Asda was closest so we've got a packet of 'little angels'

Oh.my.god. I have never ever smelt anything so awful. They absolutely stink of chemicals, Its so strong. I actually heaved after changing the overnight nappy this AM. Stale wee and whatever this horrendous nappy smell is combined to make something so strong it nearly bought tears to my eyes!

would I be unreasonable to email them?

I can't be the only one to have noticed?

Definitely check with Asda - DS is on their pull-ups for nighttimes now, and has been in their nappies since I discovered they were far superior to any of the brands like Pampers or Huggies. They definitely don't smell chemical normally, whether they've been used or not!

Been using Asda ones for a while now for DS and they dont smell of anything and I have a nose like a bloodhound. Used them for DD when she was a toddler (she's now 6) and they didn't smell of anything then either Confused are you sure your DC doesn't have a nasty uti and that's what you can smell?

MadamTwoSwords · 24/11/2013 09:39

Asda Nappies were the only ones that DD ever got nappy rash with.

Sainsburys are the best in my opinion, much cheaper than branded but no difference in quality.

welshnat · 24/11/2013 09:51

I use Little Angels and never have problems but I do know someone else who had the same smell and actually had to take her little one to the doctors as they had a reaction to them.

Creamtea1 · 24/11/2013 10:59

Agree with madam - have gone through all the brands with my 2.5 month old dd - the ones that caused nappy rash pretty much immediate (very sore and red) were pampers, asda and boots.
Sainsburys ones are fantastic, no rash, good fit, last all night and good value when you do the 2 for £10 deal.

Pobblewhohasnotoes · 24/11/2013 11:01

Morrisons own LittleBig nappies are great btw.

birdybirdy21 · 24/11/2013 11:08

I think this about virtually all disposable nappies. Pampers are horrific. Huggies used to work well for us. I am gutted they have been discontinued. I've been buying Naty nappies which seem ok but they are quite expensive.

FraidyCat · 24/11/2013 11:52

We used to use Asda one's, never noticed any smells, do recall seeing some reviews saying they are among the best.

TokenGirl1 · 24/11/2013 14:13

I use Asda for ds and Lidl for dd and don't get any smells with either!

Aquariusgirl86 · 24/11/2013 14:15

Didntbadwolf I had to switch to cloth as all sposies gave dc1 bad rash and never in cloth, they are all so different, I know some cloth people have to use sposies when a rash breaks out but we are the opposite, if I use sposies on holiday or anything cloth is usually needed to fix the rash, think my dcs must have an allergy to the chemicals or something Confused

Agree with birdybirdy, naty are the only ones I don't feel like wretching because of the smell, maybe I'm just sensitive to it tho

ddubsgirl · 24/11/2013 14:15

please take them back sounds like a faulty batch x
