To really worry about ds at school.

My ds starts school next year.

I know it's along time away but I'm worried. He's 4, but had global development delay, and is behind a year. He was/is being tested for autism. He has a speech delay although he can talk, it's sometimes hard to understand him, and if you ask him to repeat he gets angry.

He whines and a lot, and crys. He doesn't like people to "annoy him" and if someone winds him up like says aww is that mine dex? He screams and gets angry with them. I'm really worried he might struggle. He has came on loads since starting nursery. He is good at nursery, but him and his BFF fight a lot, and very physical.

The other day walking back from nursery he was on his scooter, he stood crying his heart out because some older boys called him a baby :.(

Have you got in touch with family support charity that the council run? They help put plans into place for children with with additional needs, my son has serious health isdues from a birth defect whilst this wont effect his learning ability he will miss alot of school do to issues arising from it so family support an myself will have a meeting with the school to put a flexible plan into place for next year an then when I find out where he is going we will put a permanent plan into place which will be reviewed every year with support from family support hope this helps

aww, try not to worry. are you in the position of applying for a school now? you might want to look into the possibility of getting him a statement if you'd like him in a specialist setting. in fact, worth looking into even if you want him in mainstream as it sets out the provision he will need to enable him to access the curriculum.

have a good look at all your options, go in to schools, speak to the head and class teachers if you can.

I would push for him to start school the year after and remain the the year below.
