To feel a bit sorry for Keith the Seal?

Here. The seal has been living in the River Severn quite happily for a year and now they want to catch him/her and release into the sea.

All because the anglers are moaning. How many fish can one seal actually eat? Confused

They are misery guts Sparkling. I love the thought that the Severn is clean enough that Keith is living there happily

MommyBird · 22/11/2013 13:50

The anglers are just jealous that Keith catches more fish than they do Grin

Sparklingbrook · 22/11/2013 13:50

Me too CMOT. I feel sorry for Keith. I hope he/she doesn't follow the fishy trail.

I don't understand fishing though TBH.

Madness!
We need a petition!

Keith is female according to local paper.

Sparklingbrook · 22/11/2013 14:13

Poor Keith. I feel like going down there to save him from the anglers.

sashh · 22/11/2013 14:18

I hope Keith swims straight back.

DidoTheDodo · 22/11/2013 14:20

I hope Keith finds a sealy girlfriend and has hundreds of little Keiths.

GreggsOnLegs · 22/11/2013 14:21

Oh shit no time for a petition it's happening now, poor Keith :(

Sparklingbrook · 22/11/2013 14:21

One of the comments in the newspaper says he was eating ducks. Do seals eat ducks? Confused

OP posts:
GhostsInSnow · 22/11/2013 14:21

Poor Keith. He can live in my bath if he likes.

Yep, she was eating ducks in Bewdley.
I eat chips and teddy grays when I'm in Bewdley

SeaDevilscanPlay · 22/11/2013 14:26

They want to shoot him :(

Sparklingbrook · 22/11/2013 14:30

DH was born in Bewdley.

Signed. Just watch out to uncheck from a mailing list for whales before you submit! Sneaky.

Sparklingbrook · 22/11/2013 14:43

I am very confused by it all. is she really a nuisance?

OP posts:
CMOTDibbler · 22/11/2013 15:22

Its not exactly as if ducks are endangered though is it? Pike eat ducks, as do foxes and dogs but no ones getting rid of them (well, foxes maybe)

Sparklingbrook · 22/11/2013 15:25

I just can't imagine a seal eating a duck. Confused I have a horrible feeling this may not end well CMOT. Sad

It seems that anglers think they've more right to the fish (for sport)than Keith doing what seals do naturally. She won't find a mate in Worcestershire though.

She did disappear for a while several months ago - maybe went back to the sea before deciding she preferred Worcs.

UsedToBeNDP · 22/11/2013 18:04

She's a local celeb when she swims through.

Sparklingbrook · 22/11/2013 18:05

Have I left it too late to see her?

OP posts:
UsedToBeNDP · 22/11/2013 18:09

I don't know. There was a big drive to protect her when this plan was last mooted (8-12 months ago?). It's a real shame.

ProudAS · 22/11/2013 18:10

Depends if they catch her
