Mum is always offering to help with the kids but I never ask because it is never straightforward and the cost can sometimes be too much.

Tomorrow I need help in the evening.. she is going to come and help. Perfect.

could she stay over - totally fine of course it is a 25min drive home, she doesn't like driving at night I won't be back until 7.30

she is bringing dad to stay over - lovely not seen him for a while we will have dinner when the kids are in bed.

she is coming at 10.30 tomorrow morning.

so it has wiped out my whole day and night because I need some help for an hour in the evening. ARGH!

I KNOW I am lucky that I have a kind mum, that she is well enough, close enough and willing to help.
rant over

Yes you are lucky - count blessings while you can - I wish my Mum could come and 'pester' me all day

I get where you are coming from but it doesn't stop you from BVU!

If all you need is an hour then get yourself a babysitter and pay them a fiver for the trouble.

lizzzyyliveson · 20/11/2013 21:48

That doesn't mean that you have to sit and babysit her all day. What were you planning to do tomorrow? Just get on. Hoover around her and put on a wash. Nip out to the shops and ask her to change the beds. If they realise that Thursday is a working day for you then they might not do this again.

purrtrillpadpadpad · 20/11/2013 21:50

YANBU at all, why is she coming in the morning? Why can't you say no thanks? We can't all be humble and grateful all the time.

CaptainSweatPants · 20/11/2013 21:50

God that would drive me nuts!
Couldn't your dad drive them both home???
Or you pick them up & drive them home?

InkleWinkle · 20/11/2013 21:55

I absolutely know where you're coming from & yes it would, and did, drive me to distraction.
'Did' being the important word.

Really sorry, that's so patronising cos I know if she was still here I'd still be moaning Hmm

NeverKnowinglyUnderstood · 20/11/2013 22:32

bella I know you are right and if it wasn't during bed time/ bath time I would have asked our lovely babysitter but I know DS1 isn't comfortable showering and changing whilst she is here. (has just discovered modesty)

I love her to bits, and I will have to get on, but I know there will be snipey remarks about how I am doing things and how come I didn't do it today so I could spend time with them.
