...make those that bred them in the first place responsible for their care for the rest of their lives.

There are far too many animals in shelters in need of a new home and any Tom Dick or Harry breeding yet more.

Wouldn't it be a good idea to have a compulsory register for dogs, cats, horses etc and if the people the breeders sold the youngsters on can't care for them then it's up to the breeder to sort it out.

Very simplistic I know and more of a rant about breeding from your pet because want them to have babies or make some money. I'm sick of seeing so many animals in need of a good home. What's the answer?

I'd ban the sale of them except through licensed breeders or shops - you see so many moggies and such on websites for £50 each - people breed them for profit with little care for their welfare
