She started piano a few weeks ago. Is learning Adele's someone like yooooooo

So she's been singing it too. Constantly - the minute she wakes up til bedtime. Worrying development this week is she's started alternating Xmas songs

It's relentless - DS is so fed up he's taken to putting in his earphones soon as he gets home

I've asked her politely to keep it down but she just looks a bit hurt and goes and sings her heart out in her room!

I don't think she's even aware of it. Sometimes she looks surprised when I ask her to reduce volume as if she's singing without thinking

I wasn't a massive Adele fan anyway but I can't bear that song now!

I don't want to hurt her feelings but am driven to distraction. I like peace and quiet. It's 6.45 and she's been going strong for nearly 3 hours now (stopped for 10 mins whilst eating). Keyboard too now

So - Sellotape or what?

Och this is totes a stealth boast - a few weeks of piano should equal Little F and G March not Adele and Xmas songs Grin

hanette · 20/11/2013 19:27

Ahggh no way!

Piano - the opening bars of it (I can hum it off by heart) only. Plenty of other plinking plonking which may be scales I have no idea

The rest is singing only. Pure relentless signing....

If you'd sent her to me you could have been listening to Ode To Joy now :)

Onesleeptillwembley · 20/11/2013 19:40

Yabvvu. Masking tape is better.

hanette · 20/11/2013 19:42

Piano and onesleep great suggestions

I'm going to introduce her to Dolly P, that I COULD listen to!

If that fails, masking tape is the answer - I have some thick black plastic stuff I used to mend a suitcase

You need to tell her piano teacher your taste in music, so it totally goes your way in future. After all, he who pays the piper...........

Gruntfuttock · 20/11/2013 20:20

Onesleeptillwembley Shock Frankly I am rather shocked at your suggestion of masking tape.

That's far too flimsy. OP I hope you have either duct tape or a staple gun. IME each of those are equally effective. Smile

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 20/11/2013 20:26

I'm dreaming of a glue gun. Could glue DD's hair clips to her head. Aaah, what a thought Smile

Onesleeptillwembley · 20/11/2013 20:28

I now to your superior mind, grunt. Grin

Onesleeptillwembley · 20/11/2013 20:28

Now? No, I BOW.

hanette · 20/11/2013 20:34

Yes a staple gun that glues!

I was already going to go to Robert dyas tomorrow anyway to get some wire wool. I could pop that in first then seal it with the gun?

Actually that reminds me - she's having a fixed brace fitted next week that should put a damper on things Grin

A soldering iron would be handy......

Tanith · 20/11/2013 23:33

Today, I listened to my 4yo DD and her friend singing Squiglet's alphabet song all the way home from school. DD naturally sang it perfectly with vibrato at carefully selected points oh, all right: she howled it tunelessly and Little Friend sang it a semi-tone flatter than she did.

All the way home Hmm

All the way home Sad

hanette · 20/11/2013 23:40

Oh dear

And that means it'll be ringing in your head for the next few days

Just seen the John Lewis ad before bed and now in my head - she's next in my hit list

I mean Lily Allen is next on hit list!
