Heston Blumenthal cookbook related

18 year old DS1 is doing a catering course at college and mentioned that Heston Blumenthal is his chef hero.

AIBU to think a Heston cookbook would make a good stocking filler for DS1 or will the recipes not be suitable for DS1's not overly refined teenage palate? Hmm

What about this one. Reviews aren't great Sad

This one might be better.

my son loves heston and has several of his recipe books. I have to say it seems to be more of a science than traditional cookery but that appeals to some. Most meals have turned out good but they tend to be special occassion meals that require lots of forethought. The chicken and ham pie takes about three days iirc !! If you have the money get it him

We have it, and love it. There's an incredible recipe for beef tagliata in there! Get it!

Sorry, should have also said that I am really fussy with food (only eat fish in finger form etc.!) and I really like a lot of the recipes. It's not all his crazy stuff :)

I would second the Heston at Home, there is quite a lot of stuff about tehniques and why they make a difference. Get him cooking the recipies for you - it's win win Smile.

Thanks to you all. Think DS would like the sciency stuff.
