Article here

BOF · 18/11/2013 22:53

I'm sure half the stuff he says about breeders etc is tongue-in-cheek.

kerstina · 18/11/2013 22:55

Yes they have and are undergoing ivf .cant believe people take Matthews comments about breeders seriously he is just tongue in cheek and enjoys winding people up !

NoArmaniNoPunani · 18/11/2013 22:55

I'm more surprised that David Emanuel had a wife TBH

AlexReidsLonelyBraincell · 18/11/2013 22:57

Grin NDP

I'd love it if MW joined the breeders club, that would be some turn around from his wind up the parents persona.
If they are trying IVF, as with anyone going through it, I wish them all the best. It can be a tough shitty road.

Onesleeptillwembley · 18/11/2013 22:59

I was going to ask who is he, when I heard the name I thought he was a footballer. I also am in awe of a man so in touch with his feminine side, from what I've seen the last few days.
Tbh I actually thought he didn't have the mental or emotional ability to agree to be on there. Hmm

TheRealYellowWiggle · 18/11/2013 23:00

I believe he and his first wife experienced infertility. I could be wrong, sure he has referenced that at some point.

Angelina77 · 18/11/2013 23:00

I love Matthew, his show is one of the only decent things on tv, especially during the daytime drudge. I had no idea he was trying for a family though, what an awful time they must've had.

VonHerrBurton · 18/11/2013 23:03

I am surprised!! Thanks Sparkling. Hope they're successful this time.

Thanks for the dig, kerstina, but if you read the article Sparkling linked to, he did say he didn't want kids. Until his wife went through that traumatic event and it's changed things.

Jellyrollgumdrop · 18/11/2013 23:04

I think Matthew Wright is brilliant, he's got a dour dry wit & I find him very amusing! He is coming across quite camp tho!! All the stuff he says on his show about "breeders" is tongue in cheek.

Sparklingbrook · 18/11/2013 23:09

I think he was with a previous girlfriend when she was diagnosed and treated for breast cancer too.

TheRealYellowWiggle · 18/11/2013 23:15

More than tongue in cheek surely - I know from here a lot of women laugh off suggestions that they start a family, when the reality is infertility/miscarriage etc.

TheWomanTheyCallJayne · 18/11/2013 23:18

To be honest some of his callers deserve to be hung up on.
I think he's more mn in his opinions than some people realise. He's definitely not a mail reader anyway as gives those types short shrift. He's not my favourite person but I don't get why some people dislike him so much.

HazeltheMcWitch · 18/11/2013 23:19

Matthew Wright looks like if SHane Richie and Jeremy Renner had a child. Who was skinny.

TheZeeTeam · 18/11/2013 23:20

Last time I ever watched The Wright Stuff, he was with the girlfriend who had breast cancer. She went into remission and he dumped her, iirc!!

I used to love watching TWS in the gym. The more irritating the talk, the harder I worked out!!

Gossipmonster · 18/11/2013 23:20

Matthew Wright is alright for 3 reasons. His show is the only decent thing on TV at that time of day, he named John Leslie when no one else would and he shaved his head when his ex g/f underwent chemotherapy.

Slainte · 19/11/2013 19:55

my first ever deletion!

50shadesofmeh · 19/11/2013 20:44

I like him , I like his politics and views, his wife looks lovely

MamaMary · 19/11/2013 20:48

Dunno why but I've always liked him. I just warm to him, maybe it's his cheeky grin and twinkly eyes. Haven't seen I'm a Celeb though and won't be watching it.

girliefriend · 19/11/2013 20:52

I'm really surprised they are trying for a baby! He has always seemed so anti towards children and babies. Did feel sorry for him on I'm a celebrity though last night, thought it was mean he had to eat all that crap and had nothing to show for it.

jellyandbeans · 22/11/2013 20:42

Sparklingbrook - where did you read this? He is always going on about 'breeders' and how people have 'consumers' and how much he dislikes children...i think Amelia would really need to persuade him, or trick him, if she wanted a child..

Sparklingbrook · 22/11/2013 20:45

Here jelly.

My OP was a penis in cheek joke...

Then people said they loved him...

Mean how?

He mocked the murder of a 16 year old Scottish boy on his show. By doing an impression of Taggart. He was forced to make an apology. Very distasteful.
