AIBU to consider turning the heating off

In an attempt to make toddler DD get into bed and STAY THERE?! It's almost 9pm and she just will not settle. Perhaps if she realises it's warmer under the covers she might just give up...

She's 25 months and running rings around me. Literally.

Good idea!

I think little ones can actually get too hot to sleep properly. There's nothing like an arctic gale, for making a child snuggle deeply beneath the covers and stay there - Grin!

Bed? this is why DD is still in a cot at 33 months and will be until i can't deny the fact that she has outgrown it.

Aquariusgirl86 · 18/11/2013 21:15

Sim, because some of us have children that can climb out of a cot at 11 months like my dd1 and end up in a&e with an egg shaped swollen bruise!! Thinking about to moving ds1 (15 months) as I'm sure he could get out if out of his sleeping bag.
And yes turning the heating off sounds like a great idea....might steal it!

We don't even have the heating on every day yet. If I light the fire downstairs, I only put the heating on for an hour to take the chill off for the children's bath times, then straight off. If its not bath night, no heating. We are a mid terrace, so have neighbours keeping us a bit warmer though!

All I can say is...it worked! 925pm and she was snuggled up to keep warm and fast asleep.

However it being cold at 2,3,4,5am hasn't kept my kids in bed! :-p

Thankfully she slept through til 720!
