To never do the dishwasher...

I do the two school runs starting from seven am and finishing at quarter past nine, the clothes washing, drying and sometimes but only if they REALLY need doing the ironing of everyone's clothes, floors, kitchen clean down, bathroom, toilet scrubbing, dusting, polishing, basic diy, all decorating, kids clubs, food shop, homework etc. You know, the usual shit.

Dp does the dishwasher. He's pissed off at me because of this. He works a 36 hour week but shifts so not everyday. He doesn't want to come home and do the pots. I never do it right apparently so it became his job.

He was at work yesterday so I did do the pots and admittedly a couple didn't wash right although that happens when he does it too you have to practically hand wash everything before putting them in. Hmm cue tonight another gripe about him having to do pots he hasn't used!

I wash the clothes that I don't wear and the toilet after he shits in it so I said as much. His response was 'well, when was the last time you worked'. It was April this year actually when my contract ended. I have been doing some voluntary but the funding for the project was shut down. I had another interview three weeks ago and didn't get it and am not holding my breath about getting another job anytime soon as I'm pregnant (and showing) with our fourth baby. He earns a very good wage and I don't 'need' a job but I would like one.

It's really bloody annoyed me on one hand but on the other I can kind of see his point. AIBU?

Ask him when does he look after his kids - the ones that have 50% of his DNA and I presume he chose to conceive.

YANBU - one job in the household is NOT too much to ask when you do everything else AND are pregnant.

killpeppa · 17/11/2013 21:08

nahhhh yanbu.

its mans workWink

Misfitless · 17/11/2013 21:08

YADNBU and your line I wash the clothes that I don't wear and the toilet after he shits in it is just brilliant. How anyone thinks they have a leg to stand on after you've hit them with that line is beyond me! Grin

purrtrillpadpadpad · 17/11/2013 21:09

But you are working.

I don't get it. I can't believe you feel the need to justify that you have been looking for work, honest. Hello, you're working your arse off and your pregnant. When did you last work, indeed. What a knob.

cantthinkofagoodone · 17/11/2013 21:10

Agreed with queen.

And its an easy job.

Yanbu. And if he still complains say he's more than welcome to wash the loo after you've taken a shit in it. Or shit in a pot for him to wash up.

Ah, this is going well for me Grin although I was feeling a bit U whilst sitting in the lounge eating Turkish delight
