Why, oh why did those fucking words come out of my mouth? Why? I hate swimming.

I can swim. It is OK. But oh the faff. But I promised.

Off to get stuff in a bag.

You should never make a promise unless you know you can fulfill it. The importance of a promise is the one thing that stuck with me from Brownies and "promise" is a word I use very carefully.

I think I'm the queen of making promises that at the time I'm all rose-tinted and enthusiastic about, swimming, baking, etc etc.
Then they nag and nag and nag, then I just can't be arsed and am relieved when its over. I'm such a crap mother. Grin

Thing is I am not 100% sure I did promise...especially as I hate it so much. I am far more likely to have said "We will see". I am 100% sure I have a very, very bright DD though. who knows I agree with the fact a promise is a promise...so the "But you promised" thing from her....am not sure Grin.

Still DH kept the promise for me. And if he hadn't, I would have gone.

And Alex that is exactly what happens with me too.

yanbu

I dread every Thursday evening when I get in with ds2, while ds1 has a lesson. It's so bloody cold if you are in a pool watching children, not actually swimming lengths.

plus, totally wrong to need to get rid of hair on the lower half of your body in winter. I would prefer to be able to leave it and get the forestry commission in each spring.

God I used to hate taking the dcs swimming.
The moistness of it all Shock, noise, plasters floating by..........

it is a task dh rapidly took over.
