so at parents evening tonight and in with the teacher of our youngest DC. Having a nice chat and suddenly the door opens and in marches one of my friends and the mother of my 2 DC's friends. She marches around a bit at the back of the classroom and the teacher looks Confused as do we. Then she says oh do you need more time? And the teacher offers her a later slot as we are running over and she says well no, I don't have time for that and marched back out.

I am [shocked] as she is a friend first and foremost and also Angry that she would be so rude

At my school a senior pupil stands outside the room with a clipboard and stopwatch. When the time is up, they knock on the door. If, after another minute the parents still haven't left, they knock on the door again and open it.

Parents soon get the message that their time is up.

Works a treat/

Absolutely genius idea. Might suggest to my head. At ours certain subjects are notorious for over-running so parents generally wander off to others but it does really (understandably) annoy them.

I would be shocked at a parent barging into someone else's appointment and have never seen this done. VV rude.
