I live in a first floor flat on a main road. Traffic often builds up in the evening. The amount of times I have sat at my window and looked out just chilling out after hard days work at people sitting in their cars picking their noses and eating IT is quite unbelievable. I am not joking here.........and its always men. Absolute rotters........has anyone else seen this

So your nose wraps up all the things it catches going up your nose and it's fine to then take that put and eat it?

Boak no just no.

*out

In private, fine. Like many things.

What's worse in public is people who pick, look at it and then eat it. What are they looking for, and is there something they might find that could stop them from eating it ? I'm looking at you, fat man on the train the other day.

Apparently we're all hard-wired to "pick and eat" and the only reason we don't is because adults tell us not to: www.huffingtonpost.com/dr-mercola/germs-health_b_3327755.html

Don't shoot the messenger...

I worked with someone who did this. I really didn't believe he was aware of what he was doing, as he would be talking to a group of people and just do it Confused. Everyone felt too awkward to say anything but avoided using anything he touched. He also passed a bag of sweets around once...

My uncle used to say my head would cave in if I picked my nose. He was basing this on his assumption that bogies were brain matter and best left to migrate back up to the brain. Had me fooled for years...

Isn't picking and looking (not saying anything about eating) the same as sniffing your own farts? Is it a compulsion? I feel a weird compulsion to pick nose after reading this thread.

I had someone to stay once who had a HUGE coldsore. Not a problem in itself, except he spent the whole weekend pick, pick, picking it and rolling & flicking it on my floor, sofa etc. Just gross. Made me clean the house once he'd left though!

Vikki88 · 13/11/2013 14:34

Vile people! I don't know why anybody would want to eat their own snot - it makes me feel ill!

Having said that, I have 2 boys who seem to spend most of their day picking their noses & rubbing it on the nearest object they can find. In their case, it'd be a lot easier if they just chose to eat it...

MaidOfStars · 13/11/2013 14:34

Looking is necessary. Nothing worse than chewing a stray hair... Wink

Peetle · 13/11/2013 14:43

Alright, would you eat the gook you get in the corners of your eyes ? It's essentially the same stuff as you get in your nose after all. No need to discuss earwax, we all know that tastes simply awful.

VerySmallSqueak · 13/11/2013 14:49

Gives you something to chew on,I suppose, when you're desperate for your dinner....

Freddiefrog · 13/11/2013 14:53

Ewwww....yuck!

A good old pick in the privacy of your own home, fine.

The thought of eating it makes me gag. Vile

Not sure what's worse, eating it, or wiping it on the wall beside your bed - youngest daughter, I'm looking at you!!!!

Fakebook · 13/11/2013 15:00

Ew women do it too!

We went to a wildlife park this summer that has a train going around it. At the station infront of us there was a woman with her family who kept picking her nose and eating it, stood right opposite her partner Confused. It was obvious he loved her unconditionally. I, on the other hand, almost barfed.

Fakebook · 13/11/2013 15:02

I also feel sick when I hear people with colds sucking in the snot through their nose and swallowing it. Okay, we've all done it, sometimes it can't be helped, but for goodness sake don't do it loudly and gulp it down!
