About doctors receptionists?

They are all on a complete power trip. They could often help you, but they don't, they talk to people like a piece of shit and try their best to be standoffish and rude!!!

I have once again had an argument with my doctors receptionist today over my daughters milk prescription (she is allergic to dairy so needs special formula.) I've been told by the doctor that's its fine to drop a pescription in to be faxed to my local chemist as I have to get it so frequently...

Que power trip - we don't do this. I can't help you. You can't have your prescription for 3 days. The fact that your baby will have no milk is not an urgency.

Does anyone have a nice one???!!

They belong in a very special section of hell.

Yes but who decided to put you on this formula? Was it your GP? As if it was I would ask for a referral to a paediatrician or allergy specialist. Has it been investigated or is your GP just deciding things?

We used to go through four tubs a week, they are smaller! The problem will be the cost. Neocate is £30, for example (which is what DS has).

And re your private referral, many of the insurance companies actually refuse to pay up if a GP hasn't seen the patient. Bupa for example will often write to us to ask for details about the condition

Ours are shocking too but I happen to know that the Docs are good if somewhat short sometimes without reason (I'm there probably less than once a year which for the amount of money they are getting to have us on their books must make us one of their more profitable customers Grin) and TBH I'd rather have it that way round.

it would be nicer if they were better though

It was the GP. My DD2 screamed pretty much since birth and we tried everything, then got prescribed gaviscon, then ranitidine, and no change. She prescribed this milk and the difference has been amazing. I couldn't put her down for even 5 minutes before without hysteria but now she'll happily sit in her bouncy chair for half an hour while I get DD1 ready etc, and even naps in the day in her cot. This milk has given me some sanity so I am petrified of running out of it, because obviously I couldn't let her starve so I'd have to give her normal formula.
