To want the weekend to be over?

DH and I have squabbled all weekend. DD (nearly 2) has a cold and is grumpy.

I obviously love them dearly but we've all been hard work this weekend and I cannot wait for it to be over.

Sucks really as my weeks are manic and I long for the weekend but seriously we are all about to throttle each other.

I just made DH and DD bundle up all warm and go out with the buggy in the hope that the fresh air will knock her out. My ears are ringing now that the endless droning/whining has disappeared off down the road in the maclaren.

Hi,

No, I don't think you're being unreasonable. I'm sorry you've had such a tough weekend. We've all been there. I hope it got better when your DH and DD got back from their walk.

I want it to be over too - same reasons! I took myself out for a walk instead though. When I came home it was as though I'd never left...squabbling seemed to be continuing where it left off. Weekends are much harder than weekdays if you ask me.

Weekends are often more difficult than week days as they are less structured - you've still got a child to look after but without playgroup/toddler group etc to go to.

Also, I think we subconsciously still associate weekends with relaxation, even after having children, which is sadly no longer the case!

Sounds as though you''ve just had a particularly bad one, though, with your toddler being under the weather. Hope the next one is an improvement!
