Not the own brand ones...the "real" ones. They're £3.20 for EIGHT! Shock Is it me or is that the most ridiculous price for what amounts to a gnats portion of plastic cheese?

My DS always ask for them and the one time I got them they were disgusted by them anyway! But I noticed today £3.20 for EIGHT. Am I BU to think people don't really pay that?

I do! Blush

Rummikub · 09/11/2013 17:48

I only buy when on offer. I like the taste of dairy lea cheese strings/ strips...

NotMeNotYouNotAnyone · 09/11/2013 17:49

I do if they're half price

RoxanneReidsChafingFishnets · 09/11/2013 17:50

Iceland have them.cheaper. I love them

standsonshiftingsands · 09/11/2013 17:51

We do - lunchboxes. But usually BOGOF

Meglet · 09/11/2013 17:51

I do. But they're nearly always on offer.

The DC's don't do it properly though, they just chomp through it. I used to like peeling them down so they were proper 'wiggy' and stringy.

OvaryAction · 09/11/2013 17:51

Where do you live? They're usually a pound or so oop north

rainbowfeet · 09/11/2013 17:51

On offer in Tescos at the moment Smile

ICameOnTheJitney · 09/11/2013 17:51

Good God! People DO buy them then! I saw that today and thought "They'll be out of business soon!"

I can feed a family of 4 on 3.20!

heidihole · 09/11/2013 17:52

I thought they weren't plastic cheese? Aren't they just normal cheese?

ICameOnTheJitney · 09/11/2013 17:52

Ovary I live oop North! In Cheshire.

Strumpetron · 09/11/2013 17:52

Do you all think they actually taste like cheese though? I don't...they taste of nothing! We're all used to stronger cheese which is maybe why me DC thought they were yuk.

They charge that price so when they're on offer for half price people stock up. Then make sure that they are on offer for 5 weeks out of 6. Never mind the fact that Lidl own brand are £1 ish all the time.

marriedinwhiteisback · 09/11/2013 17:54

DD has them for a treat when they're on offer. But usually I buy the nets with the proper cheese selection in them for between £2.79 and £3.29 although the price of cheese generally irks me. I think mince is cheaper than a decent hunk of cheddar.

OvaryAction · 09/11/2013 17:58

They're £2 for 12 in asda.

You're obviously shopping in posh shops

ICameOnTheJitney · 09/11/2013 17:59

It is Married a good lump of cheese is expensive but there's often an offer on.

I can't bring myself to buy the strings....the DC ask despite them not even liking the things!

I do buy shite little yogurts and muffins for their lunchboxes,...I don't make them have half an onion and a lump of double Gloucester.

OP posts:
scarletforya · 09/11/2013 18:01

I refuse hardly any cheese. Blush

*disclaimer, except cheese in a tube. Obviously.

gaggiagirl · 09/11/2013 18:06

Aren't they only £1 in asda?

They are mozzarella with paprika in to give them their colour FACT.

theaandrea · 09/11/2013 19:17

That price is pretty cheap! I buy them all the time and love them. Cheese anyway is quite expensive where i live so my opinion probably is affected by that

Rummikub · 09/11/2013 19:18

Oo cheese in a tube! Yummy primula. I have been looking at it in tesco and keep wanting to buy it. Is it dirty cheese? (I do like dirty food)

lljkk · 09/11/2013 19:42

On offer we buy loads of the real thing.
they taste exactly like generic cheese to me.

Donkeyok · 09/11/2013 20:09

I buy them when they 're BOGOF
good for lunch box treats

TooOldForGlitter · 09/11/2013 20:11

Only buy when on offer but am Shock at the idea of just chomping through one. The pleasure is in the peeling
