I'm supposed to go and give blood today but I'm ill so can't.

So if someone would do it instead of me I wouldn't feel so bad.

They have really good snacks these days. Alpen bars, cheesy tuc biscuits and mint clubs.

Thanks

I tried, but they said I didn't weigh enough. Asked if they could take half a pint then and was told no . I should come back when I was well over 8 stone - nearer 9. I'm 5'1" and small framed and never been 9 stone other than at 9months pregnant.

I go every 3 months and make next appointment while I am still there. Am on long term medication but due to what it is they don't mind.

Thanks... I have a couple of months to go then...

i always find it nice and easy when i donate - turn up at my allocated time, drink my glass of water, get the finger prick test and then donate. Tea and an orange club biscuit and I'm home within 45 mins, all done.

We have fancy new chairs to lie in as well now, not just plain old beds!

I started to donate after a thread on here last year actually, can't recall who started it, definitely makes you feel good for very little effort.

Dp gave blood for me a few months ago as I was pregnant so couldn't donate myself, the poor guy fainted afterwards and was sent home in a taxi and ordered by the nurse not to drive for the rest of the night.

Well done for your dd going in your place.
