Aibu not to allow pizza in the bed.

Dp has just arrived home after a stag night he rarely goes out. He comes upstairs with a greasy takeaway pizza, strips down to his pants and gets settled in to eat it in bed!! We have white egyiptian cotton sheets and we changed the bed yesterday. I have told him in no uncertain terms that he cannot eat it in bed, he must take it back downstairs and eat there.

He says I have ruined his night. AIBU? I feel like his mother telling him off, this has not happened before

If the highlight of a stag night is greasy pizza in bed next to aggrieved wife he's doing it all wrong.

YABU, its sheets not your life savings. They wash, they hoover, etc etc take the broom out your ass eat some god damn pizza!

Why shouldn't you have a say over what goes on in your bed? You have as much right to forbid eating in a shared bed as the other has to allow it.

Nothing wrong in principle about eating in bed, but if the other person does not want to sleep in crumbs and grease, why should they have to tolerate it?

I would have grabbed my husband a towel to protect the sheets and grabbed a slice of pizza for myself.
You surely sleep on the sheets when you have your period or a sickness bug. I think you are being a bit previous and mean to your husband. YABU.

We don't eat anything in bed. Not even toast.

It'd be the smell that I couldn't stand. Except for maybe a bit of toast in the morning I hate food smells in the bedroom when trying to sleep.

So you were nicely tucked up in your bed and your DP wants to eat a greasy, crummy, smelly pizza beside you. Why? Why can't he eat it on the sofa?

Grease is really difficult to wash out of sheets. Was he planning to get out of bed again to brush his teeth after the pizza?

I'm sure there are people who wouldn't mind being joined in bed by their dp and pizza but as you understandably do mind that's the end of the matter. He's being ridiculous.

I'd have welcomed him in. Spread a big towel over the sheets and get stuck in as well.

Seriously....you spread out a tea towel and brush out a few crumbs at the end.

I do not consider that a huff-worthy event.

I fell asleep with a stuffed crust vegetarian last week. (not drunk just knackered) woke to find the dogs had devoured most of but skidded on a greasy slice of capsicum the next morning. I use my bed for relaxing as well and for me it's worth a bit of faff. Toast is banned though.

YABU if your cotton sheets need ironing. As regards eating in bed, only with a tray and not with fingers.

YABU one of my favourite memories was a bed picnic with a huge pizza and DH when we first met.

My pov differs based on mood. Annoyed with oh eating smelly pizza when I'm not also eating smelly pizza? Outlawed. Thinking about eaking every last bit of enjoyment out of life and promoting as much in others? Go for it.

I always have breakfast in bed on a Sunday morning,ds brings me tea and Dh will bring me up toast or cereal. Sunday mornings are fab I'm washing through The Secret History so I need sustenance as it's shit so far

No pizza because of grease stains!
