School "inspiration" day is Mini-beasts... AIBU to send DS dressed as a bat?

It's the only dressing up costume I have (apart from Lightning McQueen...) and we live in the Middle East so not easy to find a bug costume

Brain - I guess they don't all necessarily creep or crawl - some fly, some slither etc - but also I think to steer kids away from thinking they are nasty "creepy" as in spooky things ??

I dislike the term "minibeasts". It is meaningless. I'd send them in whatever you like.

Minibeast is a child-friendly term for invertebrates in most schools. I've been to one museum talk which explicitly said that Giant Squid counted as minibeasts despite being the size of a truck. So no, not bats.

Could you convert the bat to a spider? Detach wings, buy four pairs of black tights to make legs.

Can you find out what the other parents are doing? If bought costumes are hard to find then they may have some ideas you can adapt.
