turn up in a sodding branded van, no a shitty white transit.

I feel more let down by this than the fact that they have totally screwed up the order.

But you don't pay for Waitrose to deliver your shopping!

Next time demand a liveried horse and carriage.

GoofyIsACow · 02/11/2013 14:43

Grin at the argos sofa!

fisharefriendsnotfoood · 02/11/2013 14:56

fair point - free delivery for paying a fortune for food - although i have so many things i didnt order or pay for its amazing

the amount of extra organic stuff is staggering - must be about £15 worth

I would definitely practise your Daily Mail Sad Face in this one OP. FWIW I was away last week and ordered a huge grocery shop to be delivered to the holiday cottage. The van that eventually rocked up over an hour late was so decrepit (though it did say Waitrose on it) that I was grateful night had fallen and none of the neighbours could see it.

Sizzlesthedog · 02/11/2013 15:54

Was it a refrigerated van? I would ring and complain.

fifi669 · 02/11/2013 16:00

First world problems!

jollygoose · 02/11/2013 16:53

the op is Mrs Bouquet!

MrsTaraPlumbing · 02/11/2013 17:19

Thank you everyone for this!!!
Made me laugh so much.
I drove my van to Waitrose today - Sat morning - I must be mad.
After going round the car park I settled in a no parking area of the staff car park.
One of the staff was there loading one of the lovely sign written Waitrose vans and said to me,
"You do know this is the staff car park?"
I explained that as my van was long wheel base - like his delivery van, I couldn't park in the busy car park today without causing an obsruction, but I would only be a few minutes.

There is never a problem shopping at Waitrose.

I'm very impressed that there is even an option to get groceries delivered in battered old van so our neighbour's don't start to think plumbers are paid to much! Now I winder if John Lewis offer that too!

pigletmania · 02/11/2013 18:11

I know I ordered from waitrose and was Shock and Angry that a plain white van turned up, te same. Aand I spent £75 too

pigletmania · 02/11/2013 18:17

Shame Blush

fisharefriendsnotfoood · 02/11/2013 18:19

piglet - that exactly, i have been lured by the £75 offer thing and all i get is a bloody white van

pigletmania · 02/11/2013 18:22

I had the same this week, thought it was a courier as dh has ordered some stuff and out flies a Waitrose delivery driver. Last year their van had Waitrose on it (my inner hyacinth bouquet coming out), but a plain fecking van Angry. My friend weeks for Waitrose will have to grillquestion her about it grrrrrrr

Aldwick · 02/11/2013 18:22

Are you my mother?

phantomnamechanger · 02/11/2013 18:24

just checking, are these plain white vans refrigerated or anything? If not I would not be happy!

pigletmania · 02/11/2013 18:24

Neighbours will think its dodgy geezer from the pub delivering stolen food grrrrrr

ThoseArentSpiritFingers · 02/11/2013 18:25

I know someone that works for John Lewis complaints, and they had someone last Christmas who refused to accept their delivery because it wasn't in a John Lewis van. And they wanted it re delivered in a John Lewis one. So that their neighbours would know where they had ordered from

SmiteYouWithThunderbolts · 02/11/2013 18:25

If only bloody Iceland would do this, then I could order from there without dying of shame.

pigletmania · 02/11/2013 18:26

Yes phantom they are all proper equipped, after all its waitrose, but no signagevsompeople know

pigletmania · 02/11/2013 18:27

No signage so people know grrrrr getting angry now

fisharefriendsnotfoood · 02/11/2013 18:30

Smite - exactly, my usual asda van always turns up branded to the hilt, but when i upgrade temporarilly the fecking things is delivered in disguise. maybe i live in such a shitty place they only deliver by stealth.

bastards

pigletmania · 02/11/2013 18:48

I live in a naice ish area and tey still turnup unbranded

TalcAndTurnips · 02/11/2013 18:48

My shopping is not nearly so lucky as fisharefriend's in its fancy white van - mine has to come home in the back of my car.

Sad

It has to face the indignity of sitting cheek-by-jowl with a windscreen-wiping pair of pants; a variety of items of teenage refuse (empty takeaway shite etc.); detritus that survived a tip run and a car boot floor covered in an unidentifiable scree of leaves, gravel and mud.

It can only dream of being chauffeured home, in a professional manner, in a gay mixture of coloured carrier bags in a dashing white Transit.
