Typical evening here: me on my iphone, DH on computer, DS1 on laptop/ipad and DS2 the same. Can't remember the last time we watched tv. Talking last night about cancelling Sky as we don't watch it.

What about event TV?
The Olympics
Tour de France
Football world cup
The great British Bake Off
Strictly

They would lose their impact if we all watched it streamed onto our tablets/laptops etc.

Sorry I meant unsociableGrin Actually, probably both!!

We cancelled Sky AND our TV license. Got rid of the Sky box so as to avoid any accusations of needing a license, only watch Netflix and iPlayer once aired, on the xbox. There's literally no difference in how we watch TV. We were paying all that money for nothing.

Saved us a bloody fortune.

FruitSaladIsNotPudding · 01/11/2013 13:07

Sorry, didn't mean to be rude. Everyone is different, I'm just saying that for us, that wouldn't work, and so we'll be keeping the tv.

Thats exactly what I mean KirjavaSmile

I know a few people who have done the same, we are considering it.

Hey Fruitsalad thats fineSmile DS2 watches hours and hours of docklands light railway vids on Youtube, DS1 watches Iplayer, DH surfs internet and I'm on here.

Actually since having autism in our lives I don't have staying power to watch drama and now even anything longer than 30 mins is a no no. Just can't be bothered (and its far too noisy to concentrate in this house anywayGrin)

You won't regret it! So much is available for free on demand and on the internet nowadays that paying for hundreds of channels you don't use seems like madness.

Our friends think we're bonkers and don't know how we 'cope', but that's just the way we live. Right now DS is watching an episode of Ben and Holly on Demand 5. No biggy.

FruitSaladIsNotPudding · 01/11/2013 13:23

What, and you don't want to watch docklands light railway vids? Wink

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 01/11/2013 13:27

Same here, no tv licence so nothing live, but netflix is on our tv so we can still all watch together. We do each have netflix on our tablets too, but make an effort to watch stuff together

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 01/11/2013 13:28

I say the same, we watch on tv via ps3. Boo to the xbox Grin

Viviennemary · 01/11/2013 13:29

I still watch a bit of TV but not that much. I think it will go towards TV on demand so you can watch anything you like at any time. Rather than waiting for something you want to watch.

HexU · 01/11/2013 13:33

I though this - as we per-record or watch via the i-player or equivalent.

However DH says he thinks more people watch certain TV when they are on because they like to watch and comment on Twitter as they are broadcast.
