A lady breastfed her daughter by the side of a swimming pool, and was told it was offensive by an employee. So far, so rubbish, from one employee, but the comments in the newspaper in question run to hundreds talking about public breast feeding being "wrong", "unnatural" and even "arousing"!!!

Okay, it was the Daily Mail, but really? People think like this?

Was anyone else on that thread a few weeks back when someone got laughed at for bfing in a cafe and there was a huge Witch hunt, negative reviews on fbook etc before the facts were established? That's what I worry about here. ..

Kate, i remember rading that thread at the time, but didnt see an ending, do you remember what happened?

The cafe owner came on offered to meet with the lady in question.

Regardless of the reasons the leisure center ga e to stop the woman bfeeding it is illegal to do so.

There is a copy of the letter they have sent reiterating they think its OK to stop a woman from bfeeding, this is illegal.

I've fed in a pool. I don't understand why do many people think this is a weird place to feed. A quick feed used to settle my baby and help her relax in the water. It generally only took 30 secs- 1 minute. I think lots of people in the uk are just not used to bf. We went to baby swim classes and they used to encourage you to feed in the pool. Not sure why it would be different in a public swimming pool!
