...by coaching our Dd (just turned 4) to occasionally ask for things by saying "I wants it my preciousss"?

I like to think I am reasonably advanced in the fantasy/SF geek stakes - I have both read LOTR and seen the films many times, I can quote the original Star Wars pretty much verbatim, I own a lot of Asimov etc. etc. However, having a live incarnation of Gollum in the house is a bridge too far, and the fact she just did it in pink and green fairy pyjamas makes it all the worse.

AIBU, and what similar japes have MNers or their OHs perpetrated?

PS - she does understand it's a joke and not the right way to ask for things!

If you divorce him send him my way.... DH has never been impressed with the signed LOTR's posters on the living room wall Grin
