So he is in charge of meat for roast today it is bloody 8pm When we have sat down to eat!

whoever cooks sets the meal-time round here....

Tell him then. Was it his idea to cook roast, has he done a roast before?

I'd be miffed at an 8 o click meal at home, 7 is okay .

8 is late? 8 is not late for us but we're sloppy about meal times.

YANBU. He knows what you normally eat so he should have made it for the usual time.

Normally eat around 6.30, he said he would start it after the rugby, no issue there if he had but 1 hour afterwards and not even thinking about putting the oven on till after he spent half hour faffing with the pork joint!

I am being a little U thou as he is making pasties right now to use up stuff/have easy food available for half term

Key skill of cooking is timing. We learnt this at school. Has he forgotten.

DH always takes far longer than I would he should do making stuff, but I try to suppress my anger I'm not fussed so long as I don't have to do it.

In fact he's out in the kitchen this very minute making sausage, bacon, egg and beans for us
