is not a suitable place for a fireworks display? I may be missing something, but given how distressed pet dogs/ cats etc get, surely lions etc are going to get even more distressed as they don't have caring owners to run to. I was really shocked to have a flyer through my door advertising this. AIBU (disclaimer, in that I hate zoos in general - but that's another thread)

Have just googled it, and seen that they are advertising "bangless" fireworks, so maybe IABU but it didn't specify that on the flyer - sorry.

presumably they are well supplied with animal experts and know what they are doing - it's likely to be in a very open space, well away from the animal houses IMO - just thinking of my nearest zoo, 10 mins drive away from home - masses and masses of open space, huge overflow carpark field etc and at least a 10 minute walk to where the animals are.

what about farms? rural villages have fireworks displays every year without loads of stories of stampeding sheep and cows being scared to death?

bangless fireworks???

BakeOLiteGirl · 21/10/2013 17:50

I went to this a few years ago. It's not silent but not loud bangs. It was good appart from being very busy.

Justforlaughs · 21/10/2013 17:51

Now I want to start another AIBU thread, about "bangless fireworks - what's the point?" Wink but it would probably get deleted for being a thread about a thread Grin

TBH the animals are going to hear fireworks anyway and these places need to make money ,I should imagine its a good payday for them .

I think the point was to help young children/those with autism/other phobias experience fireworks without tears and fears.
