Girls knickers

Sweatpea4 · 17/10/2013 21:12

I think it is time that manufacturers made girls knickers, mainly age 2 to at least 8years, full size instead of Bikini briefs. I am fed up of my grandchildren showing bare backs because their pants are so short in the body that their vests will not stay in, resulting in their backs getting cold, not good for the kidneys.
What do others think please?
Linda

reelingintheyears · 17/10/2013 21:36

It is true about the kidneys.

Boardingblues · 17/10/2013 21:38

We must demand that retailers only stock polo neck knickers!

Herisson · 17/10/2013 21:39

Kidneys? You are nuts.

H&M or pretty much any high street chain will sell you cheap practical pants for children. I genuinely don't see the problem (and I have all kinds of other gripes with the high street). Also, still giggling at the kidneys.

If your grandkids' backs are cold, maybe buy them a jumper or a thermal vest.

usualsuspect · 17/10/2013 21:40

Asda sell big pants.

Ethel.

I tuck DDs vest in her pants, she will get a draught otherwise, doesnt everyone get tucked in? Confused

MummyDuckAndDuckling · 17/10/2013 21:48

Even the Next knickers are so skimpy in the crutch they might as well be things. DD2 (3) is wearing the age 5-6 ones that didn't cover DD1's 6 yo Crutch!

mikkii · 17/10/2013 21:52

Thongs, not things, blasted auto correct

reelingintheyears · 17/10/2013 21:52

The kidneys do need looking after.

I like them devilled.

PeppiNephrine · 17/10/2013 21:54

Are you really a granny talking about little girls knickers?
Or are you a hairy hander talking about little girls knickers?

reelingintheyears · 17/10/2013 21:55

I always thought thongs went between one's toes.

Like with flip flops.

I nearly bought 3yo DD boy pants the other day. They're bigger, the elastic is totally encased which must be more comfy and she's really into Batman right now :)

Mothercare pants are cut nicely imo.

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 17/10/2013 22:04

TooOldForGlitter · 17/10/2013 22:07

My DD is 10 and i just buy her asda knicks in a size 8. They are boxer style and have spongebob on. She's happy

LittleMissWise · 17/10/2013 22:08

When I were a lass I remember my aunt buying my sister and I a pair of knickers each for Christmas. They came to our arm pits. I was about 6 and my sister was about 8 but I can remember laughing for ages about them!

thegreylady · 17/10/2013 22:10

Well as a grandma I agree. A chill on the kidneys is very nasty and to be avoided at all costs :)

mrsjay · 17/10/2013 22:10
