He has taken leave for 2 weeks from work to mind our 8mo while I have been in London doing a course (work related post grad degree). DD has been unwell with a rotten cough and has been miserable with teething. He has been trying to keep up with his own work while minding her. He has been struggling but has persevered. I have been having ball in London (although obvs missed DD and him loads)!

I'd like to do something really nice to make sure he knows how much he is appreciated - but am short of funds Haloween Sad. Would love to hear about any thank you gifts / gestures that have gone down really well Thanks

Ahem, forgot DD is only 8 months, hard to encourage them to go visit at that age, sorry! You know what I mean though.

Well I can think of something but I'm not sure I am going to say it on here! Think of something that most men reputedly like.....! Mind you, it's not something that I would do! Grin

Gosh I've only read the 1st page and I'm a bit saddened that people think the OP shouldn't thank her DH.

Yes he's "only doing what he should" and being a good parent. But a " thank you for being such a lovely parent to our child by doing x y and z" is OK isn't it.

I mean... if I make an exceptionally delish dinner I really like people to notice and thanks me, even though it's " my job" to feed them.

Why is it your job Thea? Does your DP not see it as his job to ever cook?
