Blurring out bf'ing on ch5

Watching benefits programme on ch5 (IABU). But then they blur out a bf'ing baby. You couldn't see her breast, it's 9.25pm. AIBU to complain to ch5, bf'ing should not be blurred out like something dirty.

Might it have been the mothers choice?

gallicgirl · 14/10/2013 21:34

Is it the baby's face that's blurred really?

AlmightyMess · 14/10/2013 21:35

It was the back of the babies head.

Didn't think about it being the mothers choice.

yabu - probably the mothers choice.

AlmightyMess · 14/10/2013 21:40

Okay, I pulled my judgy pants up a bit high there. I did not think about it being the mothers choice.

If C5 had done it for decency reasons then that would be shocking but I would guess maybe the mum chose it. Shame though as it would be great to see more babies being fed on telly. I was thinking they should have put a baby feeding in that sentimental Johnson's ad.

PickleSarnie · 14/10/2013 21:42

Are you sure s/he was breastfeeding? The baby was blurred out earlier when they clearly weren't being fed.

AlmightyMess · 14/10/2013 21:54

I had only just sat down with dh so I hadn't seen anything before that. It certainly looked like she was feeding.

You hardly ever see bf'ing on tv, I think a little more exposure would help "normalise" it.

The baby was blurred out all the way through.

pigletmania · 14/10/2013 22:32

Yabu, it's not the breastfeeding that's being covered but te kids identities. The older kids are blurred too

AndysMildAdventures · 14/10/2013 22:46

YABU, its the children being blurred, not the bf.

Spirulina · 14/10/2013 22:49

Lol she wasn't even breast feeding! I saw that, why assume it was blurred out for breast feeding?
