to want to buy baby trousers with sewn-in feet?

Ds is still tiny but i'm thinking about getting him some clothes now that are not sleepsuits.
Went today to try to find some dungarees etc with feet sewn-in as can't be arsed with the faff of baby socks and was only able to find one outfit that fits the bill!

Am I the only person whose heart sinks at the thought of washing and pairing up baby socks? AIBU to want sewn-in feet in clothes for babies too small to be walking yet?

M&co had some sets of tops and trousers with feet when I was in there the other day.

MyNameIsSuz · 14/10/2013 20:54

Mothercare often do them, I bought some really lovely ones for mine last year. This kind of thing www.mothercare.com/Mothercare-Hooded-Dungaree-Set/LZ6658,default,pd.html

Otherwise, I found that getting big socks and putting them over the end of his trousers kept them on :)

VinegarDrinker · 14/10/2013 20:56

Surely a babygro and "normal" clothes over the top is the worst of both worlds in terms of changing them?!

BeCool · 14/10/2013 21:03

I was the opposite - babies feet are awesome. I only wanted footless sleep suits etc for mine :) so I had lots of access to the beautiful tiny feet.

VinegarDrinker · 14/10/2013 21:08

Did you have summer babies BeCool?

Katienana · 14/10/2013 21:10

Of all the tasks thst cone with caring for a baby I can't say I have ever given sock washing a second thought. Ds has his own laundry bin and I think this might be why his socks have never gone missing.

LamaDrama · 14/10/2013 21:13

I use these for DD, socks stay on forever!

YANBU and I'm so glad you posted this because I've been wondering about this too. Thanks for the links everyone, no more baby socks for us!

VinegarDrinker · 14/10/2013 21:19

Surely "sock ons" etc are just another thing to end up faffing with/losing etc Confused It all seems so unnecessarily complicated. Just make more trousers with feet, clothes companies!

(Yes, I am a lazy parent)

LadyMetroland · 14/10/2013 21:20

I've tried to finds these as well! Everyone is suggesting M&S and Mothercare but they definitely aren't selling them at the mo.

OP if you find any then please update! I do have dd's old tights but would rather get trousers with feet. Ds (6mth) wears sleepsuits all day still but I always think the legs are a bit gappy where the poppers are. Lets the air in!

LadyMetroland · 14/10/2013 21:23

Oops - just seen link to Jojo maman - Im definitely ordering those tomorrow!

monopoly123 · 14/10/2013 21:25

Have you tried Matalan? It's been a while since my youngest was a baby but that's where I got footed trousers for her.

peppinagiro · 14/10/2013 21:27

Arghhh I'm having the opposite problem. My baby is 95th centile for length and has MASSIVE feet. Have to chop the feet off everything. I stick to tights/socks and leggings day and night now, as finding footless PJs is really tricky. And what I reeeeally need is a footless snowsuit - impossible to find :(

LamaDrama · 14/10/2013 21:37

peppinagiro - Any good? Its very dear though.

trilbydoll · 14/10/2013 21:43

Babies don't get smelly feet so you only need one pair of socks with some sockons. And they can stay on for nappy changes.

Having said that, we have 4 pairs of trousers with feet from mothercare and i will always pick them over normal trousers!

peppinagiro · 14/10/2013 21:50

Thanks Lama! It's nice, but a bit pricey...more than I'd pay for a coat for myself!

TheSkiingGardener · 14/10/2013 22:49

Oh please no! The less outfits with feet in the better for me. Both DS 's had huge feet which didn't fit in sleep suits, I had to scour shops for romper suits.

I love baby toes too.

TheNaughtySausage · 14/10/2013 23:08

peppa I have just bought a snow suit for my dd from Sainsbury 's with detachable foot things and mittens.

badguider · 15/10/2013 03:56

Love the mother care hooded dungarees linked above!
Thanks!!

I bought some from Mothercare two weeks ago instore, and some from M&S online last week (reduced to £5, one pair grey and one with little tigers, unisex). Vertbaudet also has them on sale at the mo.

SHarri13 · 15/10/2013 07:58

Peppingiro, sainsburys so snow suits with detachable feet that should work for your baby.

I've bought footed leggings from mothercare and sainsburys in the past.

GailTheGoldfish · 15/10/2013 08:20

I only ever used to buy these as I got so sick of finding tiny socks all over the house. The Jojo ones are great quality and you can often find them on ebay too.

Generally I find it really hard finding "baby style" clothes. DS2 is a lot bigger than his brother and at 6m is well into 9-12mths, and out grown a lot of the cute baby ranges. His brother wore the same clothes when he was around 1 so they look too boyish for my pre-sitting baby.

Why do people rush to dress babies like teenagers?

elliejjtiny · 15/10/2013 09:55

mothercare do trousers with feet up to size 3-6 months. I got loads for DS4 in plain white and dyed them different colours. Mrsmook Next's baby range goes up to 12-18 months. I had the opposite problem with DS3, I wanted clothes in dark colours for my tiny but active baby to cover up stains from crawling in mud and weaning but everything in his size was white or baby blue.
